Still riding high from the weekend

Miles today: 0, rest day

It is soooo hard to go to work after a long weekend. I sat and stared at the computer screen for more minutes than I'd like to admit. Still basking in the glow of a happy long weekend and gratifing Gator win. We had precious family and friends time and made some good new memories and traditions. I feel so lucky to have them all in my life.

So blessed to be able to run another race together!

Dad in his (our) lucky hat by the tree

Larry and I got our Christmas tree Friday. He didn't quite understand the importance of picking the exact right tree, taking into consideration symmetry, fullness, etc. (I am not ashamed- type A and proud...) He now knows and we found the perfect tree.

Our first tree in our first house!!

Friday night we kept it under control for our last long run before the marathon on Saturday morning. We went to see the Nutcracker at the Philharmonic. Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. We successfully stayed out of trouble and got to see some stunning Christmas trees.

Our running group even made a tree:

Go GC Runners! I loved the sparkly shoes under the tree!
My favorite part of the whole Christmas tree exhibit, a little girl getting caught sampling the gingerbread house! Priceless!

Not going to lie, I might have been a little jealous. The sugar might have been good for the 9 miler Saturday morning! It was another harder run. Last training cycle, my last long run was this eurphoric run, high on pride and 18 weeks of hard work. Not so much this time around. I am optimistic though. We had two 20+ mile runs that felt great. The forcast in Las Vegas is cool and dry. I have a relaxing week with three easy, relaxing runs left. Thinking about those running those easy runs with Larry just makes me smile. Going to be a good week.
