The Days After

Miles today: rest
Miles yesterday: 2.07 miles, easy
Miles in 2013: 316.62 miles

I will be honest, I did not know what to write yesterday. I still don't. I have so many thoughts and emotions on Boston and I am not sure how to write it all down logically. I have read every article and hundreds of other blog posts from some amazing runners and writers. We are so lucky to be part of this larger running community and although my heart aches, the resilience and actions in the face of terror are inspiring and incredible. As days go on, we will wrap our arms around Boston, the volunteers, and all the wonderful and brave race spectators. We are so grateful for the support from family, friends, and race staff and volunteers. It truly makes all the difference in the world. Clearly whoever is responsible for the events on Monday never had the pleasure of knowing a marathoner.

This was one of my favorite posts from yesterday. So eloquent and perfectly stated.

If you want to donate to the victims, this website has been set up by the mayor of Boston. You can also donate to Boston hospitals here and here

I did wear my Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon race shirt to work yesterday and had patients wearing their races shirts too.

Larry and I went on a sunset run for Boston as well. No headphones, no music.

And despite a plea from one of my favorite relatives, I 100% plan on running the KB Half Marathon in Miami on Saturday. Looking forward to honoring all the runners from Boston and all those who cannot run.
