Happy Labor Day!

Miles Saturday: 7.78 miles, easy
Miles in 2013: 792.02 miles

Hope everyone has had an amazing holiday weekend! We had a blast in Gainesville watching the gators kick some ass. I absolutely love it up there and am so glad we got to see some great friends. Running up there...not so much. We packed the days and nights full of activities and tried to squeeze in workouts where we could. It was not easy and even at 6 AM was super hot and humid.

Sadly, I totally skipped out on yesterday's run, so I would say september for off to a slow start. It won't stay that way. September is going to be a gangbusters month of training and getting ready for Chicago and the rest of the 2013.

August was a pretty great month. We hung out with family and I ran all month without incident or injury.

I have been focusing on staying healthy and have really seen an improvement. The last couple tempo runs have been good and the 15 and 16 mile long runs went well.

In fact, I have never felt so good after 16 miles, except maybe during my first marathon. Other than that, my eating hasn't exactly been perfect. The weeks I plan out meals have gone well, but I have definitely slipped the rest of the time.

Way more important than food is the newest addition to our family.

We are so happy to have her and finally after almost a month, last night she and Bailey snuggled for the first time.

Goals for September are to keep on the same path with training. I do not want to have to skip as many workouts due to my achilles. No skipping a single early morning workout. I will strengthen and stretch every week, and wear good (not cute) shoes for work.

As far as meals, I will plan out every week and have alread started with my favorite egg quinoa casserole for breakfasts this week.

Meals are planned:

Monday - rice & lentil burgers
Tuesday - raw vegetarian pad thai
Wednesday - lentil and vegetable salad
Thursday - curry noodles
Friday - either tofu or homemade pizza, if not out to dinner

Time to enjoy the last fleeting moments of our long weekend. Yay for a 4 day work week!
